Deborah Austin represents clients filing Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 bankruptcies.

Chapter 7
Known to many as the "Liquidation" or "Fresh Start". All property not protected by exemptions is subject to the trustee selling to pay creditors. Many times, the debtor loses nothing in a Chapter 7 bankruptcy. Please schedule an appointment with Ms. Austin to determine if this is the case for you.

Chapter 13
Known as the "Debt Reorganization". You make payments to a trustee for a period of three to five years. In many cases, individuals declaring Chapter 13 only need to appear one time in court. Ms. Austin will appear with you.

ManBankruptcy Terms

  • Exemptions: Allowances to protect certain types of property with certain limits.
